DMV.Ca.Gov –California DMV New Law Changes Records System

DMV.Ca.Gov – Did you know that after July more effort is going to be required to take care of that pesky ticket on your driving record in California. Even though some are concerned that traffic school will not be as valuable as it once was in helping someone clear their driving record. The new law basically says that you can only go to traffic school once in a year and 1/2.

The problem that California is trying to fix is that their courts do not have good communication systems and so you might be able to go to traffic school multiple times in the same year as long as your tickets are from different municipalities. This new law will not allow that to happen anymore.

In addition, the fact that the traffic school attendance cleared the record, and with no record of the previous offenses someone would be able to go traffic school multiple times.

Apparently it even got so bad that people were able to take one traffic school for tickets in 2 different counties at the same time.DMV.Ca.Gov

The California DMV is going to have a centralized database that will track all of California drivers records. In addition, even though going to driving school will take the points off your record they’re still going to keep a record of the incident in their files.

One of the biggest concerns from Californians opposed to the law is that the record can be used against people in court with future cases. Isn’t that the way all criminal records work?

In other news items concerning the DMV in California is that they finally got their budget approved. Hundreds of thousands of drivers in California have had to wait to renew their registrations. This is because the DMV was trying to decide on how much they wanted to charge for this transaction. One good thing for drivers is that police are not supposed to pull you over for an expired tag. Also California is giving all drivers a 30 day extension on their expiration date to renew their registration. In addition to California, all the other states have been notified not to pull you over for an expired California tag.DMV.Ca.Gov

Some more good news for drivers is that the DMV is going to start mailing out notices to renew your registration 60 days before the due date. Registration rates can be expected to rise at a greater rate due to the weak economy.DMV.Ca.Gov

Finely,up until now if you were living in California and driving a hybrid vehicle you were given special preference on the highway and allowed to travel in the carpool lane. The relaxed carpool lane restrictions took place in 2004. This is no longer the case you will be treated like every other driver. In addition to that change they are increasing rates across the board including paying for special passes.DMV.Ca.Gov

CA DMV –35 Day Cancellation Guidelines

DMV.Ca.Gov –If you’re reading this you already know what I’m talking about. You probably just got off the phone with your insurance agent, and you tried to cancel your commercial truck insurance policy with a MCP filing issued to the DMV. You were informed that you cannot cancel your policy effective today because the California DMV requires that you give them 35 days notice of cancellation before your coverage is cancelled. Let’s talk about a couple different ways you can avoid this cancellation guideline and get back as much of a refund as possible back from your carrier.DMV.Ca.Gov

1. The first way is to look at your billing. Are you current on your payments or are you already behind and has a cancellation notice already been received. If you are current go straight to step two. If you are a few days,or a couple weeks late on your insurance payment it may be faster to let your insurance policy cancel for non-payment. Ask your agent how long it will take for your policy to cancel if you don’t make any more payments.DMV.Ca.Gov

2. You can Google,“cover my big rig”and go to the “forms”section of the website. You will find a form called “Request for Voluntary Withdrawal of Motor Carrier Permit.”or you can find the form on the CA DMV website directly. Fill out that form and send a copy to the DMV and send another copy to your agent and/or your insurance company. Some will accept a copy of this form as evidence you are cancelling your permit, and others will require a copy of the written response from the DMV with regards to this request. Either way this will expedite the cancellation process and get you back the biggest refund possible.DMV.Ca.Gov

Hint:Most insurance agents don’t want to tell you about this option because it means they have to give back more commission as your policy will cancel a month sooner.

DMV.Ca.GovIt is important to remember, that your agent is not the one responsible for this rule…so please don’t be mad at your truck insurance agent. If you have a good agent he will give you the options listed above to get your policy cancelled faster, just be patient and remember if you are nice it goes a longway. I will jump through hoops to help a client if they are kind.DMV.Ca.Gov

DMV California –Do You Need to Take a California State DMV Sample Test?

DMV California –Taking a driving test can be an intimidating experience, especially if you are applying for a learner’s permit and therefore don’t have much driving experience to draw on. It is valuable to take a practice permit test before taking the actual test for a variety of reasons, chief among them to calm your nerves and help you feel prepared.

Before your first trip to the DMV in the state of California, you should start observing traffic signs, traffic patterns, and quizzing other drivers for tips and recommended reactions to specific situations. Along with your initial observations,it is helpful to take a practice permit test to see how much knowledge you have naturally absorbed through all your years of traveling in vehicles. Once you have a baseline test, you can start studying the DMV manual and get ready to take the specific California State DMV sample test.DMV California

You may want to take multiple practice permit tests as you continue to study and observe traffic laws and trends to make sure you fully comprehend the information you are reading. In the state of California, the DMV California sample test is a good place to start because it allows you to practice questions specific to California state law rather than topics that are all general in nature.

DMV California law requires applicants to be 15 and a half years of age before testing for a driving permit;this permit will allow you to drive with a qualified adult in the car until you are at least 17 and a half,at which time you can apply for a full California driver’s license. Taking a series of practice permit tests will ensure that you are not only capable of passing the permit test the first time but more importantly will ensure that you actually know the traffic laws, signs, and regulations before getting behind the wheel of a car. After all,it is more important that you are a safe driver than that you passed a test.DMV California

Adults over the age of 18 who have recently moved to California or do not currently hold a driver’s license in a U.S. state will have to take a written or computerized test concerning specific California traffic laws and regulations. The California DMV sample test is an invaluable tool to those individuals who have little or no driving experience. It is recommended that even adults with ample driving experience take at least one California DMV sample test to be sure that they are aware of the traffic laws and signs that may be unique to California or that they have simply forgotten since the last time they were forced to recall traffic laws.DMV California
